Cubicle Makeover

I've had my job for about 9 months now, but until recently I really hadn't done much to personalize my workspace. My sterile tan and mauve desk wasn't terribly inspiring, so I decided to jazz it up a bit by introducing some bright colors.

This makeover was really quite simple, I planned the design and purchased the materials in one weekend. I started by looking at Pinterest for some ideas (you can see some of my pinspiration here). Once I had an idea of what I wanted to do, I went to Joann's and picked out a cheery fabric, some inexpensive frames and three bright sunflowers (actually it wasn't quite this easy, I made a couple of trips to Joann's before I had everything that I needed!). The vase was a gift from my brother, he traded some artwork with another MFA student for it, and the little calendar was a gift from my mother-in-law, it is from Paper Source. I bought the turquoise bowl a couple of years ago from Target.

To install the decor, I stapled and tacked the fabric to the bulletin board part of the desk then used some thin nails to hang the photo frames (I intentionally chose frames that were light weight), arranged the vase, calendar, and bowl and voila!...a beautifully inspiring desk. :)

What have you done to make your workspace more cheerful?
