It's been a while since I've talked about crochet here, so I thought I would share a couple of completed projects with you. As I mentioned in a previous post, my mom and I both enjoy crocheting baby blankets. They are small enough that they can be completed quickly and they allow a lot of room for creativity and experimentation...so fun!
My mom recently completed the blanket pictured above. She used the method I mentioned in this post to design it herself. For the body of the blanket she choose a verigated yarn and used a double crochet lace stitch. She finished off the edge with a scalloped border.
I completed this floral granny square blanket using Sarah London's granny square rose motif pattern that can be found here. By using warm colored yarn for the blanket's flowers and cool colors for the background of each square, I was able to make the flowers really stand out. I connected the squares using Sarah's join as you go method and finished the edge with a few rows of single crochet. I love how cheerful this blanket is!
Have you finished any crochet projects recently?
